Our Cardiologists 

Dr Matthew Allan

Dr Matthew Allan is a cardiologist and interventionist based in The Sutherland Shire and Sydney's Eastern suburbs. He is a staff specialist at Sutherland Hospital, also working at Prince of Wales Hospital. He specialises in complex coronary artery intervention and general cardiology.

 

His medical training was completed at The University of New South Wales in 2008. He completed specialist cardiology training at Prince of Wales, St George and Sutherland Hospitals in 2015 with admission to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He then underwent training in interventional cardiology with a fellowship at Prince of Wales Hospital in 2016 and then a further fellowship at Leeds General Infirmary, one of the largest centres in the United Kingdom for percutaneous coronary intervention in 2017.   

 

Dr Allan is a lecturer at the University of New South Wales and works closely with the Sutherland Hospital clinical school teaching students and trainee physicians. He presents regularly at international conferences and maintains an active interest in research and new developments in cardiology.

 

He has admitting rights at Sutherland Hospital, Prince of Wales Public Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital and Sutherland Heart Clinic.
